Available E-Mail Lists

Enet runs the Majordomo e-mail list manager. Here is the official Majordomo documentation. Some of the available lists are (note: make sure to add @me.umn.edu to these names):

me-grads -- ME Graduate Students.
me-faculty -- ME Faculty.
me-staff -- ME Staff.
me-pa -- ME PA Staff.
fabt -- Friday Afternoon Beer Thing.
me-soccer -- ME folks and others playing soccer .

Note, we have a few special lists set up which you cannot send to or subscribe to directly. These include:

me-allemployees resends your message to me-faculty, me-staff and me-pa.

Posting a Message to a List

To post a message to one of these e-mail lists, send your message to {listname}@me.umn.edu. Your message will then be resent to all the members of that list.

Subscribing/Unsubscribing to These Lists

IMPORTANT NOTE: When new accounts are created, they are not automatically subscribed to any of the Enet mailing lists. Grads need to subscribe themselves to the appropriate lists to which they wish to be a member.

All interaction with Majordomo is done through email messages. In general, to subscribe to a list, send an email message to majordomo@me.umn.edu with a message body of:
subscribe {listname}.

For instance, to subscribe to the me-grads mailing list, send a message to:
majordomo@me.umn.edu with a message body of:
subscribe me-grads

To unsubscribe, do the same thing, except send a message body of:
unsubscribe me-grads

Creating New E-Mail Lists
