Scanner Services

Rooms 10a and 10b have network-attached scanners. These scanners, on the front wall near the printers in 10a, and in the center island in 10b, can be operated using "xsane" software on Linux or Windows workstations.

From Linux or Solaris:

• for room 10a: module load scanner/me10a
• for room 10b: module load scanner/me10b
• xsane

From Windows:

• Start->Quicklinks>XSane.---
  (Not available on the Windows Terminal Servers.)
  Warning: it saves all files to c:\temp (which is deleted when you log out).
