Biographical Data:

John C. Bischof earned a Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering with honors from the University of California at Berkeley in 1987, followed by a Master of Science in the same field in 1989, from a joint program between the University of California at San Francisco Medical School and the University of California at Berkeley's College of Engineering. Subsequently, he was awarded the Doctor of Philosophy degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley in 1992. After spending a year as the John F. Burke Postdoctoral Fellow in Biomedical Science and Engineering in the Department of Surgery at Harvard Medical School, he joined the University of Minnesota. He currently holds a Nelson Assistant Professorship in the Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer Division in the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

Research Area:

Experimental and theoretical modeling of heat and mass transfer in biological systems.
