Problem: Cutting Speed

The feed rate is an important process parameter in all machining operations. Combined with the spindle speed it determines the cutting time. Typically feed rate will be set to the highest feasible value to minimize machining time. Other considerations enter into specifying feed rate. Since finished surface roughness and machining forces also depend on feed rate, allowable values of surface roughness and cutting forces may set the upper limit on feed rate.
